Tee Grizzley was developed his love on rap music when he was in his middle school. Soon he formed a musical group “All Star Ball Hard” alongside his three other friend. In 2011, his mother was locked up in jail for 15 years due to drug trafficking. He also lost his father who was killed in 2012.
Tee Grizzley was an excellent student in high school and college. In fact, he was the only member of his family and generations to attend college. He attended Michigan State University to study finance and accounting until he dropped out for financial reason.

However, Tee Grizzley was arrested on July 1, 2014, when he attempts robbery at a jewelry store in Lexington, Kentucky. He was then sentenced to 9 month in jail for the robbery.
Career
After being released from jail, he decided to pursue a career on music. On November 2016, he released his first single titled, First Day Out. The single reached #48 on the US Billboard Ho 100 and #18 one the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop chart. He uploaded the music video on YouTube and received 2 million views in less than three weeks. The single also caught the eyes of 300 Entertainment & Atlantic Records and soon signed with them in 2017.
He released his second single “Second Day Out” in February 2017, and his third single “From The D To The A” featuring Lil Yachty was released in March.
Tee Grizzley released his debut mixtape” My Moment” in April 2017 under the Quality Control Music, 300 Entertainment and Atlantic Records. It reached #44 on the US Billboard 200 and #21 on the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop chart. The mixtape was also earned nomination for Best New Hip-Hop Artist and Best Mixtape in 2017’s BET Hip Hop Award.
